Why do some people hate Barney so much? I really don't understand. Can someone explain?

I loved Barney man, I actually still kinda do. I dunno why ppl hate him, I grow up with Barney. Barney. Not Sesame Street, not those scary Teletubbies but Barney.
I think its Barney that makes me love purple so much, I mean it is my fav color and they say things that happen in ur childhood impacts you in life so yeah maybe there is a connection.
Plus Barney is all about imigination, how they played in the treehouse and imagine that its a submarine- I still rmrb that episode. And imigination still a HUGE part of my life and I guess that purple dinasour show really actually the ones that ...nurture that? I dunno.
All in all, I really dont get why ppl hate Barney so much. He's such an awesome dinasour.
